Game [3 Berlin/Tehran] will be premiered in Berlin at Volksbuhne Theatre on December 2nd, 2023. It is part of the festival “3 Days to Liberation”, invited by Dorky Park Company and Constanza Macras, curated by Maryam Palizban. This performance marks the third digital city performance within the ‘Game’ series. Previous performances took place in the cities of Tehran and Vancouver.

In December 2014, Shared Studios launched the global public art project, Portals, enabling conversations between Tehran and New York City. Portals are shipping containers equipped with specialized communications technology. Individuals enter one at a time and converse with a person in the other location as if in the same room.

Caitlin Masley’s installations of wall drawings and hanging sculptural elements examine images of reconstructed forms of facades, abandoned topographies and a new mobile population’s evolving global landscape. In the tradition of Daniel Liebeskind’s Chora series, Lebbeus Woods’ drawings and Greg Lynn’s speculative animations, Masley’s work takes one step further to create a physical construct that provokes a dialogue of moments between structure and audience. She holds a Masters of Fine Art from the University of Arizona and a Masters of Science in Design and Urban Ecology from Parsons/The New School. She is the recipient of several grants and fellowships, including an Emerging Artist Fellowship from the Socrates Sculpture Park, a Pollock-Krasner Fellowship, and the LMCC Swing Space Residency. Masley has been artist-in-residence in Austria, Germany, Quebec, Norway and Switzerland, as well as had exhibited at MoMA PS1, Storefront for Art and Architecture, Urban Institute of Contemporary Art, HVcc Foundation, Kingston Museum of Contemporary Art, and the HDLU Museum in Zagreb, Croatia, among others. She is also the founder of studioMAPstudioSWAP which is part of the Parsons/DESIS Lab/CSI Incubator program.

This Performance is open to public to get in sometimes between 6pm-10pm and leave whenever you want.
It is part of the MFA Spring Show of the grad students of Interdisciplinary Art program at SFU and it's a good opportunity to watch other performances, including dance, theatre and music within this period of time.
A Doll's Room is a four-hour durational piece that does and does not happen on the stage. It explores the gap between the virtual and the real, and investigates the absence within the two worlds.
The piece tries to practice absence: absence of actors, composers, designers and production elements such as light or sound. It uses very minimal technical support. This performance is an attempt to study the differences and similarities between theatre performances and reality shows. It explores the space between the performers as well as the space between the audience and the performance.
As the title suggests the spoken text mostly comes from Henrik Ibsen’'s A Doll’s House. Ibsen’s play provided me literary with sentences. I treated his sentences as just sentences, and our dramaturge wrote and rewrote them considering no original logic or intention. The characters are equally important, but they accidentally remained reflective of Ibsen’s characters.
